There has been a diverse history of religion in the town and most denominations have been present at some time. Tradition says that Simon the Zealot was crucified by the Romans in Caistor and subsequently buried in the town on May 10, circa 61 AD. Today there are four houses of worship in Caistor including Methodist, Catholic, Church of England and Springs Church.
